the right to bear arms?

The right to bear arms argument presented by a lot of my American friends, after one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S history confuses me and makes a lil angry. I asked how; after a young man was able to acquire body armour and thousands of rounds of ammo, then murder innocent people does the American public still follow a legislation written in the 18th century? I also find it hypocritical to suggest that a free America is one that holds the right to bear arms in high regard, but wants to bomb countries like Iran for bearing arms. The mass murder of people has a very low probability of happening in Botswana because the right to bear arms isn't recognised as a human right or part of our constitution. In a democratic society our rights should not infringe on the rights of others, and certainly NOT endanger the lives of others. The right to bear arms clearly allows those that choose to bear said arms to be a danger to those that choose not to bear them. I think America is a great country, probably the greatest but for them to treat a constitution written by a group of men in the 18th century as gospel today in the 21st century is; with all due respect; a little ridiculous and unintelligent. The U.S criticises nations for not changing their constitutions to be more democratic but they refuse to revisit a constitution that allows certain individuals to buy automatic weapons? Let's be honest, only a militia or terrorist would need that much fire power, and anyone who feels they need that much fire power isn't going to do anything positive with it. Trayvon Martin would be alive if George Zimmerman didn't have the right to bear arms. when will America learn?

It is

It is, you know. It's like drowning, gasping for air, like your first breath. The first breath you ever take, that first breath of air after you're born that isn't just a breath but an affirmation of life. The primal scream/cry that announces your arrival. It's the first word you ever say,the first step you take. It's as terrifying as your first day at school or your first aeroplane ride. It's as intense as the first time you hurt yourself and bled, seeing your own blood.that rush of panic and confusion that overwhelms your senses, that leaves you dizzy and light-headed.It's surviving a car crash, devastating in it's destruction and power in that one moment but then a sense of new beginning when you walk away in one piece. It's a mystery, an enigma and a question with no one true answer. It's easy,it's complicated,it's empowering and yet your greatest weakness. It's new and old as time itself and it never ever stops teaching us about ourselves...Love is all these things, yet I haven't even began to say what it is.

apology

If you truly love someone and you know you made mistakes, tell them this.."I ain't too proud to say I'm sorry. To tell you that I cry when I think about you sometimes,to tell you that I feel like I failed you and think about you every day.I just want you to know that if I could change how it all happened I would and I will never stop being here for you.I work,I create and I exist but I haven't lived since the last time I was with you. These are the things I wish I could tell you, wish I could make you understand.Life has a fucked up way of happening to us sometimes, where when we least expect it;things change for the worse no matter how hard we try.I need you to know that my life will not be, or ever be right as long as you are where you are and not with me.Every single day, you're on my mind in some way, shape or form. With me, in my heart and on my mind.I have always done my best for you,I apologise that I haven't been a better man for you.I am here and will wait for you to come back"...That's my truth.B

Drunk on a plane? really?

I read today about how a south african MP got drunk and tried to open an aeroplane door in mid flight.I laughed my ass off! I was surprised at how so many people made such a big deal over it,he got drunk and acted a fool, we all have at some point, right? I get that we say we should hold "leaders" to a higher standard, but why? Shouldn't we ALL be held to the same standard? He got drunk. He wasn't caught fuckin his secretary, stealing government funds or abusing his power as an MP. His mistake was, well, laughable. It was funny and probably very embarrassing for him. That embarrassment should be enough, right? I really hope we don't get one of those fake "I have a drinking problem" press releases or fake apology. He doesn't have to apologise to anyone but his fellow passengers and his family for acting a fool, he doesn't owe EVERYONE an apology. A lot of us have gotten drunk and done even worse shit than try to open an aeroplane door in mid flight. So we should laugh about it and be thankful nobody got hurt. We should NOT crucify the man or expect him to quit his job over something as common and dumb as gettin too drunk on a plane.

It's easy to live under whatever conditions you do,because it's what you're used to. There are generations of people who you find having lived a certain way so you don't wanna rock the boat. The truth is change isn't inevitable,it has to be created by someone.so why not you? You're not happy with where you are, but you're too afraid to change. That's one of the major problems with Botswana and the world at large. We accept that certain people are born to inherit success, while everyone else is left fighting for scraps and leftovers? That's some bullshit and you know it. Change doesn't mean rioting or mass protests, it just starts with YOU. One person deciding that they're not going to take what is given but reach their full potential by trying their hardest. Change is making Afrika great by being a great Afrikan, speaking up and telling the truth;looking past the bullshit. I believe I live in a country that has the most potential of any place on this earth,on a continent that is on the forefront of where the future of this planet will be and what it will be. I refuse to be told I can't be what I want to be because I have the wrong last name or don't follow the right political party. I can be the change and so can you, just by refusing to be denied your dreams. Change is painful, but it's worth the pain to change your city, country, continent and the world so that we can all at least have a fair shake at achieving our dreams.Be the change, y'all...B.
